This book starts out well, the body of a ten year old boy is found in the courtyard of his apartment complex, the boy is Half-Iclandic and half-Thai and shortly after he is discovered Erlender, Elinborg, and Sigurder Oli begin their search for his killer. I'm not sure why they immediately assume that the crime is race related but maybe that's because I'm from LA and diversity is the norm, it may not be so in Icelend. So far the book is almost too fast paced. The investigation seems sloppy, Erlender and his partners need to take a breath, regroup ,and reflect on things. It seems like they are grasping at straws and the usual steady pace their books take is on fast forward......
